fiber arts residency
Fiber artists are encouraged to apply for a one-week fiber arts residency on Gael Roots Community Farm in Livingston Manor, NY over September 20 - 27, 2026. This program is jointly hosted by Catskill Art Space (CAS) and Gael Roots and welcomes one fine artist working in fiber to spend time on a working 150-acre Catskills farm to foster a deeper connection to the fibers they incorporate into their craft.
This is a unique residency, tailored to the artist selected, and fiber arts mentors are available to any artist interested in learning new skills. Priority will be given to artists who intend to engage with the farm environment as an influence on their creative practice. The artist is provided a private bedroom and shared bathroom in the Gael Roots Farmhouse. They will have their own sun-filled south-facing studio in the farmhouse, an honorarium of $1,500, access to the 150-acres, a large vegetable garden, heritage Icelandic and Shetland sheep and Highland cattle.
Artists are invited to share their experience on the farm and present their work and practice to the public at CAS at the culmination of the residency on September 26, 2026. Submissions are due May 8, 2026.
conjunctions literary residency
Conjunctions and Catskill Art Space are proud to announce a new three-week writer’s residency, presented by the recently established Conjunctions Foundation, dedicated to supporting accomplished writers who demonstrate both artistic excellence and a sustained commitment to literary community-building. Taking place in May 2026 in Livingston Manor, New York, the residency offers writers a serene, fully supported retreat at the Hemlock Neversink hotel, including room and board, meals by award-winning chefs, access to wellness amenities, and a minimum $1,000 travel honorarium. The residency prioritizes writers engaged in literary service beyond formal academic settings and provides uninterrupted time to focus on works in progress in a tranquil Catskills setting. Residents will also lead a community workshop, give a public reading at Catskill Art Space, and have selected work published in Conjunctions online. The Conjunctions Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of Foster Supply Hospitality. Submissions are due January 20, 2026.
ARDSLEY CHOREOGRAPHIC RESIDENCY
In 2018, the Dance Gallery Festival began a residency program in collaboration with Catskill Art Space for artists to develop new works. This residency takes place over Memorial Day 2026 and is an all inclusive residency, offering travel from NYC, accommodations, meals, rehearsal space, a competitive $3,000 stipend and a community showing at the end. These moments have been fruitful for choreographers workshopping new dances, giving space and inspiration to create in the picturesque Catskill mountains. Submissions are due March 1, 2026.
