The Gathering is a coming together of upstate neighbors, downstate friends, and interested passerbys for an afternoon of good conversation and brief performance. Hosted by Lois Weaver and Peggy Shaw. The afternoon will take the form of a Care Café, a conversational format created by Lois Weaver. The main focus is to gather around cafe tables and chat with those we know or might come to know in an atmosphere of care  All we have to do is turn up as we are, with no specific agenda, expectation, or discussion topic, and ask the question: How can we maintain an attitude of care in an uncaring world?

Talk is the main thing on the menu but there will be some simple hands-on activities on the table and some performance interventions throughout the afternoon to keep the conversation flowing. Possible performers include: Lois Weaver, Peggy Shaw, David Barnes, Judith Katz, Mermer Blakesley, Stormy Brandenberger, Terry Dame, Vivian Stoll, and Lori E.
